Edible.squishable.wearable were three interactive dance performances held at Bio.domo.sis during the Chalk-the-Block Festival. The dancers removed part of the Bio.domo.sis structure to make their costumes and live plant hats. Requesting participation from the audience, the dancers used produce on the farm.cycle to both prepare a dish and wear it. Their costumes will become increasingly "painted" after each performance thereby altering the Bio.domo.sis installation once the garments become part of the structure again. We had hoped to get local tomatoes for this project from Casa Verde Nursery. However, the recent rains wiped out their crop. The onions, however, came from Billy Franzoy's farm in Hatch, New Mexico. The serrano chiles came from Foerster's backyard farm.
Choreography by Emily Morgan, Costume and Stage Design by Christine Foerster, and performances by UTEP dancers: Music Adame, Alexica Baca, Laura Corral, Ana Nieto, Maria Portillo, Chelsea Shugert, Nicole Soto, Oscar Vásquez.
